Founded by Steve Prostano, The UHNW Institute is an independent, nonprofit think tank and learning exchange, designed to improve wealth management for ultra-high-net-worth individuals and families.
Committed to thought leadership, educational programming and a structured understanding of family wealth needs, The UHNW Institute directly addresses the lack of transparency often associated with the family wealth sector. At its core is the Ten Domains of Family Wealth model; a comprehensive roadmap spanning financial and investment management, estate planning, learning and development, family dynamics, health and well-being, and advisor–family relationships – an essential tool for consistent and integrated wealth management services.
The Institute’s Integrated Family Wealth Management (IFWM) Initiative also introduces several industry-first frameworks, including the Wealthesaurus™—a standardized glossary to foster shared language across disciplines—and the AIM Framework (Assessment, Implementation, Monitoring), a structured model for enhancing collaboration, clarity, and professionalism across the sector.
Supported by a global network of seasoned members, the Institute also offers events, research and peer-learning opportunities to help families and advisors navigate complex wealth challenges and elevate industry standards.
